News, updates, and changes in Composer R2 2025 ("Red Bull")
Composer R2 2025
Release date 2025-04-25, version: 2.2.9245.15730
News and Improvements:
CrystalSpeech audio operator - A highly efficient Noise Cancellation Operator optimized for voices. By using AI, this new operator will remove background noise from your audio source in real-time. Check out the Crystal Speech Tutorial to try it out.
Web Page Input - Up to 10x performance gain. Support was added to capture audio from the web page. Added an autostart option (default on)
Image Classification operator - Image Classification is an advanced AI feature that analyzes images and video frames to identify and categorize objects based on their visual characteristics. The operator is compatible with Yolo 8-12 models in ONNX format. Try the Image Classification Tutorial to get familiar with the operator.
ASIO Device Capture - This new input provides support for ASIO (Audio Stream Input/Output). By using ASIO, Composer can use any audio source compatible with ASIO. One such example is Dante digital audio.
ASIO Target - Output audio to any ASIO-compatible device.
Point Tracker Operator - A new tracker that can be used to track movements caused by camera changes or changes in the set. The built-in auto-compensate feature can be used to automatically compensate for position changes.
Automatic Gain Operator (Video) - a new operator for automatic gain control for video.
UDP Target - added support for generic UDP messages.
Video Delay Operator - improved performance. Up to 10x performance gain when using 4K+ resolutions.
Added support for configurable output buffer size and allowed frame skipping when the buffer size approached the limit.
Changed the send_buffer_size to 512KB. This can improve ingest performance and stability when ingesting to servers with high latency or high network jitter.
Audio Monitor - added support for triggering an error on "dead-audio"
Lock Screen—Performance mode: Improved performance in locked state, added information on the number of congestive frames.
Added support for moving one frame forward or backward (next/previous frame)
Added support for keyboard shortcuts for a CAV Input that is selected: ALT+P: Toggle Play/Pause, ALT+RIGHT: Next frame, ALT+LEFT: Previous frame.
Input & Scenes list: added support for re-ordering inputs using CTRL+UP/DOWN.
Scene Layers: added support for re-ordering layers using CTRL+UP/DOWN.
Bugfixes:
Speech To Text - Text was not appropriately cleared when starting and stopping the operator
Connectors - animated properties could get an unexpected end value.
Decklink Capture: the UI did not always show a warning if the video input frame rate mismatched the project frame rate.
The Script Operator could sometimes render an exception when loading a new project or exiting Composer.
The Smart Search function did not work correctly with Audio Inputs and Scenes.
The LE version did not work unless the number of scenes with targets was 2.
Other changes:
Chromium - Updated to version 132.3.11
Decklink Target V2 and V3 have been deprecated from the UI. However, projects using V2 or V3 will still work. For new projects, use V4.
Web Page Renderer (Chromium, WebGL) has been depricate from the UI. However, projects using the input will still work. For new projects, use the Web Page Renderer (Chromium) input.
When creating a new project, the framerate of the previously running project will be used.
If Audio Preview is enabled in the desktop version, it will remain enabled when a new project is opened or created.
Assets Filder: added support for searching in the documents/Composer/Tutorial/Media folder.
