Utilities/False Color
The false color operator is a tool for visualizing different exposure values of your content.
Different luminance values are represented by distinct colors to give you a clear understanding of the exposure levels of every part of your image.
Green representing IRE 41-48, equals the luminance of 41-48%, Pink is typically the luminance of Caucasian skin tone.
Teal is deep shadows, and Purple/Blue is untextured black.
Straw, Yellow, and Orange are strong highlights, and Red is totally untextured white.
Colors represent the following IRE values (at all other values, the desaturated image represents the luminance value of the image).
Purple: IRE 0–4Blue: IRE 5
Teal: IRE 10–12
Green: IRE 41–48
Pink: IRE 61–70
Dark Straw: IRE 71-91
Straw: IRE 92–93
Yellow: IRE 94–95
Orange: IRE 96–98
Red: IRE 99–100
NOTE!
There are different opinions on defining the IRE value range for different colors.
