Special Effects/Starglow

The Starglow operator adds a glowing star effect to the brightest parts of a frame. It makes highlights sparkle and shine, giving the impression of light reflecting or shimmering. This can be used to bring extra emphasis to bright spots, add a cinematic glow, or make reflections more eye-catching.

Options

  • Luminance threshold - Sets the luminance level required for areas to glow.
  • Softness - Controls how far the glow spreads around bright areas. Higher values create a softer glow.
  • Boost - Adjusts the intensity of the glow.
  • Opacity - Controls the transparency of the starglow layer. Range: 0–100. At 0, only the glowing areas are visible; at 100, the glow blends fully with the frame.

Length

  • Streak length - Sets the maximum length of all starglow streaks.
  • Up length - Sets the length of the upper streak.
  • Down length - Sets the length of the bottom streak.
  • Left Length - Sets the length of the left streak.
  • Right length - Sets the length of the right streak.
  • Up left length - Sets the length of the upper left streak.
  • Up right length - Sets the length of the upper right streak.
  • Down left length - Sets the length of the bottom left streak.
  • Down right length - Sets the length of the bottom right streak.
Tip
This operator often requires some experimentation with its settings to achieve the desired effect.
