# Settings - Index

Composer settings consist of system-wide configurations that are independent of projects.

Choose "Edit/Settings..." from the application menu to open Settings. The Settings contains ten tabs: [General](/v1/docs/settings#settings-general), [OpsGenie](/v1/docs/settings#settings-opsgenie), [Web API](/v1/docs/settings#settings-web-api), [Assets finder](/v1/docs/settings#settings-assets-finder), [Alarms](/v1/docs/settings#settings-alarms), [Metrics](/v1/docs/settings#settings-metrics), [Live preview](/docs/settings-live-preview), [Debug](/v1/docs/settings#settings-debug), [GPU and Rendering Options](/v1/docs/settings#settings-gpu) and [Script Engine](/docs/settings-script-engine).

The settings file (settings.xml) is stored in the root application path and can be replicated between servers.

Note!If settings.xml is copied to a Linux server, the URI paths in the settings.xml must be reconfigured to match the Linux directory.
