# Hue shift operator

**Color Correction/Hue Shift**

The Hue Shift operator is a powerful tool used to transform colors. Either by changing the hue, the saturation, or the luminance.

The operator features a color range selector, which selects which colors to process.

Below is an example where Hue Shift operators have been applied on the red.

- **Hue (-180 to 180)**- hue (degrees)
- **Tolerance (degrees)** - hue tolerance (degrees)
- **Softness (degrees)** - hue softness
- **Hue transform (-180 to 180) -** hue transform (degrees)
- **Saturation transform (-100 to 100) -** saturation transform (%)
- **Luminance transform (-100 to 100) -** luminance transform (%)

Hint!

Use the color picker tool in the Preview window toolbar to get the hue of a selected pixel. Knowing the hue might make it easier to work with the hue operator.
