# Getting started

Composer is currently available only to registered customers. If you are interested in evaluating Composer, please contact Realsprint.

## Download

As a registered customer or evaluator, Realsprint has provided you with download links to the software. The download link is available either in the [support portal](https://support.realsprint.com), in the EULA, or has been shared otherwise. [](https://www.realsprint.com/)

## Installing

Follow the installation instructions in the[Installation and License](/v1/docs/installation-1) chapter. Unless a valid [license](/v1/docs/license)is installed, Composer will run in Trial mode, which runs for a limited period of time, and the outputs will contain a watermark.

## Demos and tutorials (Windows Desktop version)

After installing Composer, we recommend that you explore the application by downloading demos and tutorials.

Composer includes an online library of demo/tutorial projects that can be valuable for learning the basics of Composer or trying out new features.

## User Interface

The User interface is introduced in [this documentation](/v1/docs/user-interfaces) or by viewing the [video tutorial.](/v1/docs/general-overview)

## Desktop vs. Runtime version

The runtime version is designed for **playing back** predesigned Composer projects. The desktop version should be used for creating Composer projects. Most of the online Guide refers to the Desktop version. Read more about getting started with the [runtime version](/v1/docs/vindral-composer-runtime-version-pre-release-information).

## Video tutorials

Video tutorials are often a rapid way to understand a product. [Here](/v1/docs/video-tutorials) are a few basic Composer tutorials.
